SWIIM deploys it crop water budget monitoring and auditing platform on operations throughout the western US.  Some clients use surface deliveries and others pump their water.  Although technology evolves over time, the basis principles around ag water delivery haven’t changed much throughout the years.
Pictured here is a replica of an old piston/gear powered pump, located in front of Arvin-Edison Water Storage District headquarters in Arvin, California – located in the Central Valley.  It stands as a reminder of days past and how water was delivered throughout that particular region before modern pumps were available.
Think about generations past – about what a grower had to go through to power this sucker up each time an irrigation event was scheduled.  No automation included in this model.
And oldie but a goodie.
